Sports challenges on Kopaonik on September 19 and 20, 2020.

With the sports challenge on Kopaonik on September 19 and 20, 2020, the Olympic Committee of Serbia will announce the upcoming European Sports Week.

The sports challenge is being held for the seventh time this year, and the sponsor of the event this year is the company Coca – Cola. In the previous six years, it was a competition between cities that aimed to encourage as many people as possible to engage in physical activities and try their hand at various sports. In accordance with the epidemiological situation, this year’s edition of the Sports Challenge has been modified. The first part of the challenge will be held on Kopaonik on September 19 and 20, and the second part in Kosjerić on September 23. This year’s event does not have a competitive character, but the goal is for citizens to practice and learn about Olympic values in a safe and secure environment.

The Olympic Committee of Serbia in cooperation with MK Resorts, the Municipality of Raska and Ski Resorts of Serbia on the plateau in front of the Grand Hotel and at its #BeActive stand in the Valley of Sports, this weekend on Kopaonik will organize various activations for all visitors to promote sports, physical activity and healthy lifestyle to meet European Sports Week.

Visitors and participants of the event will have the opportunity to compete in the Treasure Hunt as well as to be part of the BeActive training which will be led by a professional trainer. An Olympic story, body painting and an Olympic workshop will be organized for the youngest participants, at which cyclist Jovana Crnogorac, a participant in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, will hang out with visitors during the weekend.

On the plateau in front of the Grand Hotel on Saturday, all sports fans will have the opportunity to make a video with a 360-degree camera and participate in the creation of a unique mosaic of their photos, which, like the video, will be available in electronic form as a souvenir.

For more information, all visitors will be able to visit the stand of the Serbian Olympic Committee in the Dolina sportova (Valley of Sports) throughout the weekend as well as learn more about upcoming events on the sitewww.evropskanedeljasporta.rs.

European Sports Week is an event launched by the European Commission. This year, it is being held throughout Europe for the sixth time in a row, while in our country it is being celebrated for the third time. The goal of the event is aimed at encouraging citizens to engage in physical activities regardless of age and physical fitness, as well as educating citizens about a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the week, it will be organized through events in cities across the country. The national coordinators of the European Sports Week for our country are the Olympic Committee of Serbia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The preparation and realization of the event will be carried out in accordance with the measures of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the crisis headquarters in connection with the Covid-19 virus epidemic.
