Kopaonik 08.08.2021. Military national teams from a total of seven countries are competing today at the 10th CISM Challenge Cup in mountain running “Kopaonik 2021”, organized by the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Dr. Nebojsa Stefanovic thanked the competitors from abroad for taking the time to come to our country during the Covid, which is still undefeated, and pointed out that he is extremely proud of our military athletes who always and everywhere represent Serbia with dignity.
Declaring the event open to be held in our country for the 10th year in a row, Minister Stefanović also wished the participants from other countries to feel welcome in Serbia and to continue to achieve success.
In addition to the military representation of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army, military representations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Romania, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Slovenia, which are also members of CISM, compete for medals at the 10th CISM Challenge Cup in mountain running. .
The organizer of the competition on behalf of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army is the delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the International Council for Military Sports (CISM), while the organization was assisted by Kopaonik National Park, Raska and Brus municipalities and Public Company “Ski Resorts of Serbia”, with the support of the Serbian Athletics Federation. .
The ceremonial opening of the 10th CISM Challenge Cup in mountain running was also attended by the Chief of the Military Academy, Major General Dr. Bojan Zrnić, otherwise the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to CISM.
