Organized by the Ski Association of Serbia, ski club “Niš” and “Čigota”, with the support of PE Ski Resorts of Serbia and the engagement of clubs, sports experts in skiing and skiing enthusiasts, on Kopaonik will be held from 13 to 18 April 2021 Serbian championship for children U-16, U-14 and open FIS championship of Serbia for older categories U -18, U-21 and over 21 years.
Our best categorized competitors, candidates for participation in the Winter Olympic Games in 2022 – Nevena Ignjatović and Stanišić Strahinja, will perform at the competitions. Unfortunately, Marko Vukićević and Zoja Grbović will not play due to injuries. Representative competitors from the junior and cadet selections, Djordjevic Mihajlo, Rastko Blagojevic, Aleksa Tomovic, Mateja Minic, Ugljesa Pantelic, Marta Dinic and others are also expected to participate.
Also, talented competitors aged 12 to 16 will participate in the Serbian championship, competing through a joint project of the Olympic Committee of Serbia and the Ski Association of Serbia called “Development program of alpine skiing and identification of the most talented children”, ie “Talents – Milan 2026”. Bronze from Pinocchio Emilija Đurović, Sara Nendvich, Aleksa Lalić, Lazar Perišić, Aleksa Balović and others.
The Ski Federation of Serbia expects that a large number of competitors from the region and a certain number of countries across Europe will take part in the open FIS championship of Serbia: Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Austria, Turkey, Cyprus and others.
The Serbian Championship is being held on the “Crna Duboka” trail, which this year, with the help of alpine skiing experts in Serbia and the Ski Resorts of Serbia, was superbly prepared according to the highest FIS standards, so the conditions for the competition will be extremely good.
The program of the competition on Kopaonik is as follows:
April 13 – Serbian Championship Giant Slalom (U16, U14)
April 14 – Serbian Championship Slalom (U16, U14)
April 15 – FIS Serbian Championship Slalom (U18, U21, Seniors)
April 16 – FIS Championship of Serbia Giant Slalom (U18, U21, Seniors)
April 17 – FIS Junior Championship of Serbia Giant slalom (U18, U21, Seniors)
April 18 – FIS Junior Championship of Serbia Slalom (U18, U21, Seniors).
The Serbian Championship is being held with the implementation of all prescribed measures in the conditions of the KOVID-19 virus pandemic.
The Ski Association of Serbia is pleased to point out that despite a number of limiting factors and difficult conditions, it managed to organize the Serbian championship this year, for the benefit of skiing and winter sports in Serbia, with the support of clubs, experts and sincere friends of Serbian skiing.
